Tretinoin is a drug in cream form to get rid of acne. This is an ointment that contains tretinoin or retinoic acid (retinoic acid).
Vitacid ointment acne remedy helps reduce the growth of pimples, relieves the pain of inflamed acne, and speeds up the healing process of inflamed acne.
Apart from that, this drug can also help treat, control, reduce, and improve skin conditions that are dry, rough, and have wrinkles. Tretinoin works by affecting the growth of cells in the skin.
Dosage for acne in adults
Initial dose: apply a small amount, in a thin layer, to areas of acne or problem skin once a day before going to bed.
Acne inflammation may worsen during the initial phase of therapy (3-4 weeks after the first application) due to the effects of tretinoin on the skin.
The healing process occurs gradually and the final results are not visible until 6-12 weeks or more. The use of Vitacid must still be done until new pimples no longer appear on the skin for several months, or after the desired results are achieved.
For cases of worsening acne (acne exacerbation) which may also occur during the initial phase of therapy (3-4 weeks) as a result of the action of tretinoin on subclinical comedones. The dose thereafter may have to be reduced after prolonged use.

The safety and effectiveness of this drug have not been established in pediatric patients (less than 18 years).
