Melanox hydroquinone 2% is available in two types, namely Melanox and Melanox Forte. Melanox contains the active ingredient hydroquinone 2%, while Melanox Forte contains 4% hydroquinone. Hydroquinone functions to block the formation of melanin, which is the pigment or natural dye that gives color to the skin.
This is often used to lighten areas of the skin due to dark spots, acne scars, sun damage (melasma), or skin darkening due to hormonal changes (chloasma).

For pregnant and lactating women Category C: Studies in experimental animals have shown an adverse effect on the fetus, but there have been no controlled studies in pregnant women. The drug should only be used if the expected benefit outweighs the risk to the fetus. It is not known whether Hydroquinone 2% can be absorbed into breast milk or not. Breastfeeding mothers are advised to consult a doctor before using this drug.
Dosage and Rules for Use:
Applying an appropriate amount to the skin area that is experiencing hyperpigmentation every 12 hours. Recommended for use at night before going to bed and in the morning.
